An annual contribution of 4 pesos by each indian family; that indians form their own parishes and pay indian and Spanish religious personnel, lists suggested salaries for various personnel; that they pay 30 Spanish residents (who must be married and will populate area) to serve as defense militia; that a system of community livestock be developed (provides prices of various species); that each indian own land and pay a percentage to the church; and that funds be set aside for the king, for hospitals, and to support livestock raising. Nunez writes of Galvez' merits. Description with map of rio Mayo area, including description of clothing worn by indians, and agricultural activities. Estimates a population of 2,000 indian families living in the rio Mayo area (maybe 6,000 souls). (L. L. Woodward, August 1989)

General account of Neve's wealth compiled by Corbalan including liquid assets, salaries, and account of Neve's expenses owned to various individuals; salary of Neve with deductions for Monte Pio, Invalidos, Media anata, and conduccion a Espana. Account of transport costs for goods bought from Neve's estate (receipt of muleteer). Account of Neve's expenses, costs of food items and household goods bought and services provided (carpentry, transportation, laundry); Series of receipts of money paid out by Neve's executors and funds deposited in Rosario treasury. Neve's widow prohibited from receiving the sum of inheritance Neve indicated in his will. List of gun powder and household goods for sale left at Neve's hacienda by Croix. Dongo and Corbalan correspond regarding freeing Neve's funds to pay Neve's debts, including debt to late doctor sales. Medina's letter introduces inventories and auction sales of Neve's belongings. Autos by Galindo Navarro regarding Neve's executors and funds they administered. Corbalan relates to virrey that he has paid the heirs of Neve's doctor and describes transactions of Neve's wealth liquidated through auction; virrey(?) Acknowledges receipt of letter. Galindo Navarro in auto describes death of Neve and his duties to make an inventory of Neve's belongings, put his papers in order, identify corpse, and gather keys. Copy of Neve's will (ff. 145-159). Letters concerning money allocation for presidios in Alta California. Includes request for raise in pay in Monterrey explaining that expenses are different in different locations. Letter instructing governor of California to distribute as he wishes a total sum of 12000 pesos between the presidios, there will be no raise in the total amount due to large expenses incurred by king in war against Britain. Letter recommending to stop buying cloth due to high prices in Castilla and lack of money in California. Documents mentioning previous documents related to allocation of money to presidios in California while no money has been received by officers. List of goods that have to be payed for, includes different types of cloth, Mantas, hats and shoes . Originals and copies of documents ordering to pay capitan Carcaba the required money for expenses incurred in presidios in previous years. Letters from treasurer promising to give money to Carcaba. Letter from Carcaba asking for specific instructions of what to do with money since it won't be enough for all expenses incurred. Informe concerning complaints from Concepcion against a number of frays from misiones fernandinas. Complains include doctrination of Indians in their own languages, baptism without previous instruction, economic inequality between missions, and a number of petty complaints, Concepcion is accused of being crazy, and transfering him to another colegio is recommended. Follows letter from Concepcion asking for audience from virrey and detailed account of situation. Questionnaire sent by Borica to comandantes of presidios asking about situation in misiones; answers describe in some detail every day life of converted Indians including housing, daily diet and clothing in misiones (folios 10-41). Follows copy of informe previously sent to Branciforte by Borica, and now sent to Azanza. Letter from Buenaventura describing in detail con un Muchacho y Le mando que Se Vaya a fornicar. Borica certifies Arenaza's good record in official document. Follows summary of book-keeping in missions of Nueva California. History of religious, military and civil dominance in California since 1772 is described in some detail by Lull, asking to clear the name of the Missiones in California. Fiscal de la real hacienda suggests sending Concepcion back to Spain to avoid scandals. Unsigned document explaining how missions in California should be divided among different orders. In a long document Laruen summarizes in detail everyday life in missions in California special detail on punishment to Indians, number of lashes, instrument etc, claiming that if something, the treatment to Indians is very soft (mui blando el trato), also very detailed account of aranceles of all missions in California. Laruen asks to dismiss the whole incident with Concepcion, explaining that it is all based in anger of neighbor misiones and presidios due to his bad attitude toward them, follows similar detailed account on housing including measurements of dwellings, materials of clothing, money allocated. This informe and particularly the one that follows are an answer to accusations made by Borica and a number of captains of presidios in the area. (folios 63-101, 104-111). Following is a long document from Arillaga explaining discrepancies between reports from missionaries and military personnel, he explains cada uno dice de la Feria, como Le fue en ella. Summary
Inventory of objects at time of Jesuit expulsion of properties of the hacienda de Ibarra. Major sections clearly indicated and divided into numbered fardos. Careful description of all items give quantities, varieties, prices and often place of manufacture or procurement. Goods include funds on hand from salaries, furniture, and merchandise in warehouse of hacienda. Principle especially food, Chocolate, cacao, cloth, clothing and sewing supplies, wine, swords and weapons, equestrian tack, blankets, and religious items. Objects apparently warehoused at the colegio Jesuita de San Andres. (J. M. Johnson, October 1989)
