Manning, George Felix, Sr.

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, October 27, 1837. Graduated from the Medical Department of the University of Alabama in 1869. Practiced for a time in Texas and served as member of the Board of Medical Examiners. He came to Arizona shortly afterwards. Specialty: gynecology and treatment of children's diseases. Served on the last Territorial Board of Medical Examiners of Arizona. Sons: George Felix Manning, Jr., MD and Thomas Peyton Manning, MD. Source: Who's Who in Arizona. Volume I. 1913 (p. 184-185).

Manning, Wilkins R., Jr.

1910-1973. ArMA president: 1958. [Occasionally referred to as “William” or “Wm.” (e.g., 2/11/1947) – and twice, apparently, as “Bill” Manning. (see 1953-02-05-06 and 1954-01-12-03). Kennedy and Grubb also refer to “William Manning” (Kennedy also to “Wilkins Manning.”)]

Marcus, Stanley

The PhD degree is in question. It seems the 1951 “Marcus” references refer to the “Stanley Marcus” of 1952. From the 1951-10-04-01 and 1951-10-04-04 Minutes of the Pima County Medical Society, 1904-1954: "Dr. Beaton reported that a PhD named Marcus...apparently a psychiatrist or psychologist from New York City...is going to set up a public relations institute in Tucson." Marden, Wilson Cornelius

J Am Med Assoc, Jun 1903; XL: 1592: Wilson Cornelius Marden, M.D. Medical School of Maine, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, 1896, of Pittsfield, Me., died at Mercy Hospital, Prescott, Ariz., from pulmonary tuberculosis, May 1, after an illness of four months, aged 36. He was a member of the American Medical Association.

Margolis, Frederick J.

Pediatrician. Served in the US Public Health Service directing health care on a Navajo Indian reservation (Ft. Defiance, AZ) in the 1950s.
