It appears that the minimum requirement is 100 major surgical procedures in the final year of residency.”

J Am Med Assoc, May 1942; 119: 195: The Arizona Public Health Association held its annual meeting on March 13-14 in Tucson under the presidency of Robert A. Greene, Ph.D., Tucson. Among the speakers were Dr. Jerome E. Andes, Tucson, on "Chemical Substances Occasionally Introduced into Food by Accident" Dr. George O. Hartman, Tucson, "Bacterial Enteric Infections and Intoxications," and Dr. Sydney E. Sinclair, San Francisco, "A Pediatrician's Thoughts on Mental Hygiene."

Physician and surgeon, Douglas, was born at River Point, L. I., June 3, 1869. Dr. Greene attended the public schools of his native town until fifteen years of age, when desirous of studying medicine, but not having the necessary financial backing, he entered a drug store as an apprentice, and after serving three years became registered as a pharmacist. He continued in the drug business to the age of 22, when he came to Bisbee, Arizona, and studied for a year under the chief surgeon of the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company.
