Capilla de la compania volante of Nuevo Santander needs new religious goods. Perez wants to get those from the presidio of Santa Rosa that were deposited at la Babia, after reforming the compania volante de Saltillo. Borrego killed Soto in the aisle of the church. Cura Diaz resisted surrendering Borrego to officials and was sent to local Convento for spiritual exercises and training, then to Convento Grande de Querataro. Citizens and officials relate historical, ethnographical details of towns. Visitador Palacios imposes diesmos, copy of document issued by Santianer setting and directing payment of diesmos by all in Santander province under penalty of jail and excommunication if not obeyed. List with stated amounts to be paid by each citizen. Also, a list of Arancel de Curato issued by bishop. Capitan Blanco documents differences of diesmos in province complaining of excesses by some priests, Blanco called to northern frontier to stop Indian incursions and investigation comes to a halt. Includes charges by mission Indians and Larumba that inducements of money, horses and other animals were offered to Indians by padre Pinedo and Spaniards to molify the discontent of Indians and to influence their declaraciones. Highly critical of the local missionaries, who are blamed for the poverty of the citizenry. They spend too much time with the Indians. They don't allow the Spaniards to have estancias, saying that these would interfere with the Indians Milpas. The missionaries possess more arms than do the soldiers. Requests that P. Fr. Criminal charges brought by fray Gonsales against capt. Flores include procuring arms from Frenchmen, inciting Indian hostilities and unchristian behavior. Flores removed from capitancy of presidio. Also includes presidial role for San Antonio Bexar (f.170). (J. Carpenter June 1987).

Governor reports to viceroy on mission agriculture and cultivation, Indian labor at missions, use of farming equipment and livestock. List of mission production and expenditures sent to treasury, some missions failing, must send Indians back to lands, other missions successful.
