Series of documents dealing with conquest and reorganization of presidios and other gubernatorial posts in the area of San Luis de Colotlan and San Diego de Colotlan. Testimonies given on several aspects being organized, such as agriculture, land, religion, justice, etc. Documents deal with testimonies of witnesses who say how the area was conquered by troops from fronteras. Correspondence among several government officials in regard to military administration issues such as pensions for widows, postal services, military supplies, counterinsurgency operations, peticions of more military officials for the army, weaponry factories, etc. Letters are very general and bear little information. Concerns Series of letters dealing with organization and distributions of authority between provincias del Occidente and oriente. Series of letters regarding orders given to commanders of provincias del oriente and Occidente. Mention of take over of Texas by insurgents from the north. Herrera appointed as commander of provincias de oriente. Notice given on the defeat of troops from provincias de oriente (list of information. Concerns documents dealing with rearrangements of political jurisdiction with respect to the dependence of provincias del todo y Por todo la dependencia del virreynato, limitandose Sus facultades y consideraciones, a las mismas que disfrutan los comandantes generales y gobernadores de las restantes provincias. Concerns administrative correspondence dealing with appointment of commander for Nayarit, Canaveral gives notice of his illness to the viceroy, notice of Bando sent to Xalapa regulating merchants, notice of charges brought against Indians for workshiping idols, beds and uniforms are requested for troops, advancement of salaries requested to buy food for presidio's troops, notice that prices of salt and other staple foods have been raised due to low rainfall, Alberni gives notice that visitas to missions have been postponed due to his illness. Concerns indexes of issues addressed to viceroy, dealing with efforts to terminate Indians idolatry, military personnel, salaries, appointments, etc. Document written by Canaveral describes Indian solution of Mescal and other herbs to carry out their rites. Native names of religious objects such as an ornamented pot which is called tallaopa and another one called tajachi are described. Provincias Internas are divided into western, commanded by Ugarte y Loyola, and eastern, commanded by Dufay; Pinon [Pison?] eruptions cause Dufay to make military visits; Dufay searches for Capitancillos and Pinones, either they turn themselves in or a bounty will be placed on their heads - dead or alive; receipt of novedades and military reports; primera compania de Monterrey receives an alferez primero.
