Included is a general description of- the land and its productivity; the division of labor among the reducidos, and their proper interaction with the Spanish. Some Pima baptism figures are cited. King notes Leon's expedition to Bahia de Espiritu Santo in search of French, and his reports of numerous gentile Indians in area, especially Texas Indians, who could easily be converted. Texas Indians described as algo politicos y de usso Mas racional y tratable que los demas. instructs bishop to establish 5 or 6 missions in area to convert Indians, secure area against French. Leon notes lack of government in Tlascalteco Pueblo, or Pueblo of mission Indians of San Francisco de Coaguila, lack of vigilance against enemy Indians. Orders election of Indian officials. Lays down numerous regulations concerning Indians. Orders patrols 3 times a week- once by 4 presidial soldiers, other times by Indians themselves- to guard against hostile Indians.
