Correspondence concerning negligence of captain of presidio del Passo del Norte; discussion of who is to be chosen as priest for Cuellar's expedition, Sotto mayor finally chosen, also Casay chosen to go as doctor of expediton; mention of uniforms and provisions for expediton; documents discussing back-payment of salaries to Munoz' troops; appointment of Galvez, Bezerril and Cuellar's Brother as captains of first, second and third companies respectively; also document showing situation of such companies. Cuellar denies intention of taking soldiers from troops in Sacramento and peace overtures by two Indian captains to captain of Janos. Letter explaining money given to Cavedes from funds of Propios from Saltillo and mention of negligence in management of those funds. Account of depressing state of troops in Julimes and Zerrogordo, and suggestion by Cuellar that captains not be payed their salaries. (M. Vasquez, July 1988)

Cuellar petitions to leave his office after conclusion of war due to civil and religious corruption in Nueva Vizcaya. Summary
Documents concern an all out military campaign and very well organized raid against Nortenos and Apache Indians. Indian prisoners of the Spaniards play an important role in attacks against the Indian rancherias. Diaries of the campaign give full description of how raids were carried out. Military official in charge of the expedition requests stipends for Indian guides who proved loyal to the Spaniards. Document contains some unrelated information dealing with mission's supplies and military appointments. Brief mention of Indian language interpreters. (M. Marroquin, August 1988)
