Gonzales comments on unlikelihood of getting job as promised by director de alcabales due to employment situation in Provincias Internas; complains that his income has dropped 75% while size of his family increases. He asks for 5-6 month leave to recover from illness; certification from doctor. Request rejected by Ahumada, ply y Alduan. Letter stating that Pinilla shall continue as auditor as appointed by king; another person will carry out duties of assesoria general de la commandancia (which he was handling as well). Due to lack of qualified people to take over assesoria, Pinilla is switched to that job, will be replaced as auditor by a teniente letrado from Guadalaxara. (O. Velez, January 1990)

Upon arriving in Mexico City, governor-elect Alencaster of New Mexico requests advance on his Media anata, Monte Pio of 1,000 pesos for travel expenses. The viceroy approves advance using Alencaster's belongings as collateral. (E. Wilson, November 1989)

Chacon requests gubernatorial salary to be paid him until he is able to leave Mexico for Spain. The ports are closed due to war. Vildosola and Lasso support Chacon's petition to the viceroy of the obligatory delay since his influence could expedite settlement. Military governors are also entitled to 12 salary payments for travel back to Spain. The royal warrant of April 16, 1792 settled the question of payment. (E. Wilson, November 1989)

Concerns gobernador Chacon of Nueva Mexico's petitioning that his position in Nueva Mexico was exempt from the Media anata in 1793 when he was nominated as well as the conduccion Fee from Spain. The Media anata was extended to include Nueva Mexico in 1799 so Truxillo decides to retroactively charge Chacon in 1800. Lassos and Vildosola support Chacon that it is unjust. Much correspondence back and forth to find the royal warrant on ff#298. Chacon is finally returned his money. royal nomination on ff#288. (E. Wilson, October 1989)
