Documents concerning Valdes' campaign against rebel Seris, Pimas. Valdes investigates murder of Seri by band of Pima hunters. Takes testimony various Seris from Populo, Angeles, Pimas from Pitiquin, learns that Seris involved in fracas in Pima territory because route to Salinas led thru Pima land. Decides to reduce wild Seris (Salineros) to Populo, especially those at Carrizal. Notes various wild Seri settlements, occasionally mentions number of families living there. Order form the gobernador prohibiting the entry of any non- Indian into Indian pueblos. He establishes the penalty-a 200 peso fine, 200 lashes and hard labor in the mines.
