Glandorf relates the highlights of his 30 years among the Tarahumara. The letter was written in latin, he'd forgotten German. Recounts various miracles; and infestation of his dwelling by evil spirits, which he exorcized. Tells of the Pima revolt, and that he has many of the defeated rebels at his mission. (R. Perez) (1977)

High praise for captains Hurdaide, Borgansa Quesada. Condemnation present captain. Account civil/religious conflict Sinaloa-Sonora. Brief description agriculture, barter/exchange rates, Jesuit livestock industry, Jesuit commerce with Parral, wild food gathering (acorns, chestnuts, Quelites), Mescal making, mission architecture, settlement patterns, Indian depopulation at hands of Spaniards, Indian migration to mines/ranches outside province. Summary
Serra writes his nephew, who has recently entered the order of St. Francis, of his upcoming mission to ^the province of San Saba. He tells of the martyrdom of two clergy there last year, and the serious wounding of another. Apaches are the primary inhabitants, although Commanches and ^innumerable other tribes^ are present. They also requested military protection. Franciscans given control over these parishes. The natives are to be converted and then settled.
