Notice to governor of New Mexico of assignment of fray Caytano Bernal and Joseph Prada to El Paso missions and fray Joseph de Vera and Isidiro Cadelo to Santa Fe missions.

This is a group of 26 letters, all originals with the autograph of fr. Francisco Iturralde. They are written from various missions to different friars. Some are personal, others are informes. A good number were written to fr. Diego Bringas who was visitator of the missions, and almost all were written on half folios in the manner in which we write letters today. This letter was written by fr. Mariano Antonio de Buena y Alcalde to the illmo y rmo Senor bishop thanking him for the faculties he has granted to his missionaries and informing him that together with this letter he is sending information regarding the missions with the names of the missionaries assisting at each mission. This seems to be an original document but it does not bear the signature of fr. Mariano, nor does it contain a date. (microfilm catalog)
