Hamer, Jesse Dewey

Arrived in Arizona about 1926. ArMA president: 1936. Dates: 1898-1966. Arizona Medical Board record: Jesse D. Hamer MD; license date: 7/30/1927; address: 15 E Monroe St Ste 910, Phoenix; area of interest: internal medicine. From ArMA website: Dr. Hamer was only 38 when he served as president of ArMA in 1936. There have been less than 10 presidents of ArMA under the age of 40. He was a long-standing delegate to the American Medical Association, and finished his career as vice-president of the AMA.

Hammill, O. O.

O. O. HAMMILL, Secretary and Treasurer of the Douglas Drug Co., is also a native of Canada, having been born in Ontario in 1870, and like his partner, was educated in the common schools, College of Pharmacy and University of Toronto. He then went to Illinois, became a registered druggist in the state, and secured a position as manager of a large drug store in Chicago. Here he remained for several years, and in 1901 came to Douglas, where he opened the store for the Braum-Ferguson Co., which he later, in connection with Dr. Huxtable, purchased.

Handy, John Charles

Contract surgeon, acting assistant surgeon. Served as post surgeon Apr-Aug 1871. Interested in forming a county medical society in 1879. Died 1891.
