Summary
Indian chief comes to meet with Cabello; they discuss what the tribes are doing. Lipanes come to lure the Indian away, but fail as both he and Cabello believe they intend to kill him. The smallpox epidemic is spreading among Indians. Cabello deduces that only the Comanches are warring on the Spaniards at the time. (D. Coates) (1979)

Also includes recapitulation of pertinent elements of instrucciones de la comandante general (conde de Galvez) for 1785.
