Real Alencaster describes the plight of an american and two Frenchmen who accompanied the Cuampes. The american was sick from measles and could not support himself, and the two French trappers could not ply their trade in New Mexico. Real Alencaster appropriated 75 pesos to help the three. Detailed statements by witnesses and those accused included. Original sentence was death by hanging but since no hangman could be found, sentence was carried out by firing squad.
