Pedro Perea Ibarra accuses Andres of stealing some of his goods from hacienda. Andres found guilty but Dr. Diego Rivera Zapata pays Pedro worth of goods and gets Andres free. (R. Davis) (1976)

Residencia of capt. Domingo dey Uarte's tenure as Alcalde mayor of Rossario de Chameta. Conducted by justicia mayor Juan de Olaes. One statement accuses Domingo of sheltering indios in his personal service, who had robbed peoples goods. Persons- Enrique Davila y Pacheco, governor; captain Domingo dey Uarte; capt. Juan de Olaes. Manuel Machado claims Domingo de Villa led Antonio (Negro), Luis (mulato) and Diego (mulato) on a raid on his hacienda stealing 300 pesos worth of goods. They are all slaves of Valerio. Valerio is excused from responsibility and Luis, Diego and Antonio each get 100 lashes, Domingo is given 100 lashes and sold for 150 pesos as slave to cover court costs of 47 pesos. (R. Juan de Loera is beaten and his house is robbed. Bautista the indio is witness and testifies against Miramontes and Verdugo. (R. Davis) (1975)

Xpoval is accused of stealing a collection of money and goods left by Nicolas Perez at Manuel Gomez's Casa. Pedro de la Bega is Xpoval's public defendor. Xpoval found guilty and sold in public square for 250 pesos to Juan Pasqual. Inventory of court costs total 69 pesos 2 tomines. (R. Davis) (1975)

Domingo accuses Gaspar of stealing 2 mules from him. Gaspar finally admits to having the mules and is ordered to return them. Persons- Enrique Davila y Pacheco, governor of Nueva Vizcaya; Domingo de Ytuarte, Vezino of Guanacuir; Gaspar Hernandez, Vezino of Parral. (R. Davis) (1975)

A rather prosaic account of a robbery (of clothes) and assault case. The document is somewhat remarkable, however, in that it appears that the sentence was reversed and the defendant released after being declared not guilty. The original sentence was a fine and court costs. (C. Needham) (1975)

This document contains a report into the robbery of a cow by an Indian and his companion. Apparently, the cow was slaughtered on the spot by the two servants who are apprehended. The justicia mayor signs the order for the execution of the two guilty Indians. (C. Needham) (1975)

A very interesting, but seemingly endless, criminal proceeding against an Indian slave accused of diverting pieces of silver to a mulato Esclavo who worked in a smelter. The defense rests on the minor status of the mulato Esclavo and a large number of petitions request release. The fiscal takes a personal interest in the case and orders the two to submit to torture - therefore the confessions should be treated with caution. Both defendents are sentenced to be sold at auction and to be sent to work in a Mortero. (C. Needham) (1975)
