Concerns administrative correspondence dealing with appointment of commander for Nayarit, Canaveral gives notice of his illness to the viceroy, notice of Bando sent to Xalapa regulating merchants, notice of charges brought against Indians for workshiping idols, beds and uniforms are requested for troops, advancement of salaries requested to buy food for presidio's troops, notice that prices of salt and other staple foods have been raised due to low rainfall, Alberni gives notice that visitas to missions have been postponed due to his illness. Summary
Concerns letter from Canaveral to viceroy explaining a whole strategy to accomplish Indians reduction. For this the governor suggests distributing land in Santa Gertrudis, where conditions are good for that purpose, in spite of cold Weather. Plan includes reorganization of presidios and authority in Nayarit (more personnel, new salaries, more supplies etc). Letter describes inaccessible conditions of Nayarit, stubborness of Indians who workship idols and progress being made in their reduction to the crown. Political reorganization of alcaldias in the area is also suggested. (M. Marroquin, April 1989)

Concerns indexes of issues addressed to viceroy, dealing with efforts to terminate Indians idolatry, military personnel, salaries, appointments, etc. Document written by Canaveral describes Indian solution of Mescal and other herbs to carry out their rites. Series of autos on the celebration of rites by nimemigua papaneleoche yore pexec tacaguia tavargec pexicg criatura y Se ha empezado a alimentar de Leche materna, Vajo de tu proteccion la pongo para que Se crie Feliz, y preserve de dano, acuerdate de la Cienega de donde Vino esta agua). Testimonies from Indians are taken regarding their religious rites. Indians describe instances of their own idolatry when interrogated I.e. where they hide their idols. Native names of religious objects such as an ornamented pot which is called tallaopa and another one called tajachi are described.
