Summary
Letters, relaciones, autos between governor, viceroy, officers and missionaries about need for seeds, arms, munitions, and religious materials to conduct everyday life in province of New Mexico. Plans to administer economy and protect province against Apache incursions. Inventories of horses, arms, munitions and men attached to presidios of Santa Fe and el Passo del Rio del Norte. Retirement requests from sick and old soldiers and officers. Spelling out laws about foundations of doctrines and missions in area. Due to the present governor's ineptness, the Zunis and Zacatecos have returned to idolatry, the Indians of this province have revolted (one padre having been killed), the entire harvest of the Indians amounts to only 2,000 fanegas of corn and wheat. (R. Perez) (1977)

Distribution of guns to inhabitants El Paso by order of viceroy to March against rebel Pueblo Indians to reconquest lands lost. Various autos, letters and diary of March along shores of Rio del Norte, finding burned towns, churches, convents and general destruction and killings. Otermin orders investigation thru trial of various Indians to find heads of rebellion. Systematic destruction of Indian icons, burning of grain and raising of remaining towns.
