Ambrosio Miguel de Rivera requests officials to adjust past salary, determine amount of Monte Pio and inventory the goods belonging to his Brother Fernando for the benefit of latter's widow and children. Father Valdez to arrange for inventory of items to be publicly auctioned. Witnessed lists of goods in storage provided. Long discussions between viceroy Galvez and officials in Arispe and Guadalajara to determine exact amount of salary and Monte Pio due. Summary
Describes death of Indian from San Jose caused by Apaches. Discusses Ripperda's eagerness to take charge of government of Comayagua and impossibility of doing so; Apache raids, trade of weapons, and emphasis on their entrance to Bexar without weapons. Ripperda thanks Bucareli for recommending him as brigadier, also sends his service records. Also extract of letters from Ripperda to Bucareli received on January 13,1777 mentioning mistake of enumeration of letters, auction of contraband goods taken from Vidal, and attack and subsequent killing of 4 Comanches. Also documents discussing in detail items up for auction taken from Vidal and various declarations from witnesses incriminating Vidal. Letters asking for artillery and assigning priest to town of Bucareli. Also mentioning correspondence with Mecieres, peace with Indians, and conflict between Ramos and Cazorla. Granting of permission to give gunpowder and weapons to Indians, complain about illegal commerce and misbehaviour of inhabitants of Bucareli. (M. Vasquez, March 1988)

Summary
Entry of two Frenchmen into Nueva Mexico to trade and explore territory. Detained and merchandise confiscated, sent to Santa Fe to governor who after investigation with aid of translator decided to send men to Mexico after auctioning their merchandise. from Chihuahua men were sent to viceroy in Mexico City where they ended in jail. Last document dated January 31, 1754 states that both Frenchmen still in jail and their declarations being translated into Spanish. (A. Dell'acqua. 4/17/87)
