Summary
A Series of travel diaries and relaciones de los reos that Indian Chorova as teniente general of Temosachy, population of Indians, asks that both Temosachy and Yepomera receive 25-30 families each in order to deter Apache attacks and to take advantage of fertile land, sum of money to be given towns from fondo de temporalidades account to be used for the purchase of livestock and agricultural tools, distributed evenly among family heads with amount for community purposes and to support new settlers mentioned above if they come to fruition, due to his health Borica sends Ochoa to conduct visitas of missions de la Sierra and Cienega de los Olibos with instructions, terminates servitude of weekly workers in San Pedro alcantaras, receives letter from Cordero in Santa Barbara telling of attack by Taraumaras, responds by sending out orders to all subdelegados to form Indian groups to search out perpetrators, further instructions to Cordero that in future occurrences of the same he send letter to jurisdictions towards which Indians were traveling; sends out notice to royal judges on wanted fugitives with instruction that if caught they are to be transported promptly to the jurisdiction where they are wanted, comments new zeal with which Indians are working; Series includes a document called relacion de los reos which lists fugitives of area with detailed info on physical characteristics, crimes wanted for, jurisdiction seeking them, names, and where they are suspected of being; acknowledgement of receipt of diarios de comision. Summary
Concern establishment of a Pueblo called reyna de los Angeles and another one called san Joseph de Guadalupe; construction of three missions in California; arrangements of how new presidios would be provided with horses, cloth, security, and population; estimated number of families to inhabit new presidios; inhabitants for new presidios are required to be in good health. A carpenter and blacksmith are needed so they can make tools and ploughs; recruits for new presidios are required to be married. Part of the army of new presidios is celibate due to lack of Spanish women in area; corn and barley is produced in new presidios to feed the horses; fabric and some garments for boys, girls, women and soldiers is sent to new presidios. (garments include socks, shoes, skirts etc.. Chart in ff.36 and 42 include list of families and inhabitants of new presidios). Summary
Documents discussing contributions given by various people to cazique summa for tools and oxen for the land of San Lorenzo, mention of tools and beasts given by Cuellar. Notarized documents concerning management of public funds by capitulares of Cavildo and deputies of commerce and mines of Chihuahua funds to be used as ordered by Cuellar while he is absent in expedition against Indians. Tunon appointed as temporary governor on Cuellar's absence. Documents stating man-power of Cuellar's troops for expedition and his plans to examine land on frontiers of Nueva Vizcaya. Testimonies giving detailed description of auction of sheep, of bidders, prizes and money gained - will be used for extraction of water, also mention of scarcity of cattle meat. Summary
Informs Croix of journey to Belen, where he exhorted recently conquered Sibubapas to remain in Belen because of all advantages enjoyed there. Subabapas thru governor Mayusca indicated desire to return to Suaqui, stated unable to plant because of lack seeds, oxen. Corbalan promises to secure such necessities.
