Summary
Documents concern new order from Cruillas about the new way for requesting gunpowder. Captains should include a memorial describing the ways and quantities in which gunpowder has been used. Mention that at end of every year, left over gunpowder given to soldiers who sell it. Cruillas does not approve of this. In other documents there is some mention of campaigns against Pimas and Seris. Possible enemy ship seen in the coast. Soldiers are sent to investigate. Mention it is possibly from England since two countries are at war. Expeditions against Indians suspended until further notice. In Culiacan troop is being formed to protect the coast from attack. Weapons and gunpowder being collected. Also mention that due to an epidemic some soldiers cannot be of much assistance. (J. Tapia, April, 1988).

These documents include an interesting diary and related Padron of Indians surrendering under jubirilirci, that include much info on social organization, language, motivation for surrender, and methods used by the Spanish to negotiate with Indians.
