This particular Series deals with legajo 13, quaderno 10, 1766. Upon orders of Galvez, Ugarte y Loyola submits index to Nava who remits them to Castro. Topical listings in indice include missions, new Orleans, presidios, prohibition of saltpetre and gunpowder, governor salaries, building materials, criminals, tobacco, desertion, Yslas Blancas, campaigns against Indians, house sales in Penzacola, virreys, Santander, pearls, and mines. Several letters from Garcia Alexo for virrey informing him of the need to decrease the size of military and avoid the excessive payments. Relacion of several Indians who want amnesty to live in pueblo mesquital. Relacion contains names and how many are with their families. Letter from the governor of Sonora to the virrey informing him of the happiness of the americans when they heard the king's declaration. Garcia Alexo reports that the rebels who caused the disturbance in Bavispe have been identified and suggests virrey recognize the patriotic behavior of Evangelista Barrios, chief of the Opatas. Letter from the directors of tabaco y polvora to the virrey informing him of the quantities of tobacco sent to those provincias. (D. Bautista, July 1990)

Comandante Garcia Alexo informs virrey of bad living conditions of military in that part of the province, that is, no supplies, no weapons, no horses; Garcia Diego informs virrey of possible illegal introduction of contraband tobacco; relacion contains salary of military, expenses of the military Hospital, expenses of the different missions from Tarahumara, Parral and Nueva Vizcaya, and the totals. Garcia conde petitions virrey for additional weapons and training funds to eradicate Opata depredations along northwestern frontier. Also requests more tobacco, corn and meat rations for distribution to Apaches for agreeing to peace treaty. Garcia conde attributes actions of Opatas to conditions of misery which the Spaniards have left unattended, and contends that Apaches will follow suit if nothing is done. (A. Tukey, March 1989)

Series of letters from Arredondo to viceroy. Notes reception of news that rebels have captured Acapulco. Mostly concern peace treaty concluded with Tahuacanos of eastern Texas. Arredondo suggests that treaties should be signed with other groups, especially Comanches and Lipanes, in the interest of a more favorable economic climate. Notes that Indians arrived at peace talks with cheap gifts of baskets and reed sieves, reflecting poverty of Indians in area. Arredondo petitions for greater quotas of tobacco and beef for Texas for distribution among Indians as incentive for keeping peace. (A. Tukey, March 1989)

Series of documents concerning misunderstanding between Nava and Revilla Gigedo on relationship between New Spain and Provincias Internas. much discussion between viceroy and other government officials concerning collection of taxes from Provincias Internas with respect to real hacienda and tribunal de Cuentas. it is agreed upon that real hacienda in Mexico will continue to be in charge of taxes from Provincias Internas. the king as well as other government officials are informed of this decision.
