Letters from Falco to comandante general informing him of rebellion and misconduct that took place in Bavispe naming Falco suggests comandante send prisoners to Chihuahua; letters from Garcia to virrey informing him that provincias are in peace. Letter from general of Opata nation for comandante informing him that his people have nothing to do with rebellion in Bavispe; letter from the realista to virrey informing him of public fight between Falco and Paula that is affecting all the presidios, saying that the Gachupines are fighting for the money; Garcia suggests virrey send a military officer to Chihuahua; copy of letter from Melgares to Garcia informing him of movements of united states against some places on the coast. Documents consist of undetailed accounts of raid by unspecified group of Indians against hacienda San Juan de Mata. Regimento de Infante Carlos encircle area and drive all Indians across Rio Blanco into U.S. territory. (A. Tukey, March 1989)

Documents concern interrogation of two Anglo-Americans caught trespassing on Spanish territory on Galveston Island. Austin, of catholic religion, claims to be naturalized subject of Spain, for which he has passport. Residing as a lead Miner in San Luis, Austin was migrating to Texas once that city became part of U.s. territory. Kirkham came to Texas in search of his four escaped slaves, and has English letter from U.s. Governor of Louisiana requesting his safe Passage. Both prisoners testify that general long no longer in command of troops previously concentrated along Texas Louisiana border, and that pirate Lafitte has fled Galveston for south America. (A. Documents with different topics; letters from Vidal requesting payment to his military Brother who is comissioned in Luisiana; Onis writes an interesting letter to the virrey of the political consequences if people from the united states continue to settle down in Spanish lands. Onis writes from Washington in October 1809; Vidal informs virrey in detail about his military career and requests payment; Arredondo describes the difficult situation lived by the people of Saltillo with the disease; fiscal sagasurrieta informs virrey about the situation in Saltillo and about the sacrifice of the cabecilla Ximenez. Obispo from Nuevo Reyno de Leon informs virrey that the Hospital is in good condition but the problem is caused by the peste. (D. Bautista, February 1990)

Arredondo informs virrey of news from Consul Fatio of war plans by U.s. against Spain. Fatio cites outraged announcements in U.s. Newspapers of death of Perry and Gordon at hands of Spanish troops, and advertisements in U.s. soliciting population of Texas by american families. Correspondence to virrey also includes complaints against Royuela of not following orders. (A. Tukey,October 1988)

Documents concerning violent fever contracted by soldiers at Espiritu Santo. Fearing an epidemic that would cripple Spanish forces during critical campaign against insurrection, Arredondo petitions virrey for immediate medical attention. Suspects that illness introduced by Indians crossing from U.s. territory. Includes fascinating inventory of medicines ordered for treatment. (A. Tukey, October 1988)

Arredondo informs virrey of warning from Spanish Consul in new Orleans of imminent attack by Toledo from ships landing at rebel stronghold of Boquilla de Piedras. Makes request to Naval commanders of Cuba and Veracruz to send ships to patrol Texas coastline. (A. Tukey, October 1988)

Arredondo considers list of candidates to fill governorship of Texas after retirement of Lopez. Includes resumes and service records of candidates. Pardo, Varela, and Arango chosen successively, but each resigns due to illness. Perez becomes permanent governor. (A. Tukey, October 1988)

Transcript of interrogation of captured rebel Cuerk. Includes questions on types and origins of insurgent weaponry, leaders of insurgency and their whereabouts, number of individuals involved and their nationalities, and how insurgency is funded. (A. Tukey, September 1988)

Querque brings Series of letters by Trudeau and Laffitte to Arredondo. Concern rebel plans incite and equip Lipanes uprising in Coahuila to divert Spanish forces from rebel sea landings in Texas. Discusses problem of highway robbers operating from safe havens on U.s. Side of Sabinas. Captured letter by Laffitte relates rendezvous of Spanish rebels on Vacas islands to await transport to mainland, thus getting around proclamation by U.s.president prohibiting launching of attacks against New Spain from U.s. territory.
