Several Tegua Indians in a petition to governor Vargas, claim that for no apparent reason they were jailed. (on order of gov. Summary
Jose Sanchez, a blacksmith, is imprisoned for debts. He causes much trouble in the jail, and escapes in order to liberate 2 women from the women's jail. They decline. Nothing much results from the incident, but the testimony of various prisoners gives an interesting insight into this facet of Colonial society, including the racial overtones. (R. Perez) (1977)

Summary
Preparations for campaign against hostile Cocoyome, Coaguileno Indians involving forces from Mapimi, Gallo, Cerrogordo, Conchos presidios, Tepeguan and Tlascalteco Indian auxiliaries, and vecinos from Spanish communities. Campaign rosters included. Some prisoners taken and interrogated, including Cocoyome leader Juan de Lomas. Lomas blames Coaguilenos for all the robberies and murders. Frequent references to the imprisonment of Coaguileno community of Cinco Senores Pueblo. Alday recommends prisoners be deported to Mexico. Good summary document by Alday 0489a-0492b.
