Autos of residencia against Bustillos y Zevallos by edict of king and ordered by viceroy to comply with laws which investigates administration of governor at end of his term. Investigation is by governor Sandobal questioning all personnel involved with administration under Bustillo and Indian heads and people at large in province. Letter to viceroy requesting licence to visit court and explain issues about mission protection and ways of bringing Christian religion to Apaches as fray Guadalupe feels moment to christianize Apaches is at hand as they are being attacked by Comanches. Fray Guadalupe feels that after Apaches are reduced by means of religion the Comanches would also accept doctrine which would pave way to explore northern territories. Marquez de Altamira advises viceroy about difficulty to do so as there are not enough soldiers in presidios to escort missionaries in this mission. Viceroy follows advise of Altamira. (A. Correspondence from fray Fernandez to viceroy in regard to capitan Baztherra of Bahia presidio for lack of cooperation in protection of mission contrary to custom of sending three soldiers for guard duty. Letters from Corbalan to virrey concerning issues of provincial value of gold that Former sent to latter for subsequent transfer to Mexico; informing virrey of peaceful state of Indian tribes in province; informing virrey that Corbalan has Corbalan will send account of expenses incurred by California province; cover letter, certification of gold sent from Fueros virrey that Corbalan will remit informe concerning nuevo arreglo de misiones in next mail shipment. Corbalan's response to viceregal letter in which he suggests Seri harvest be stored and meted-out to them, and believes 800 fanegas should be sufficient to feed Seris.
