Concerns expenses accumulated during pacification and settlement of Colonia del Nuevo Santander; contains detailed lists of expenses incurred by and debts of individuals including military personnel; contains detailed listings of items supplied to region during this period (food, furniture, livestock, seeds, etc.). Documents deal with Garcia and Fernandez requests to exchange military positions; they seek approval from superiors, and it is granted. Other documents deal with their traveling expenses as well as their new salaries. Civil official in pagaduria general are informed of new salaries. (J. Tapia, February 1988)

Series of letters dealing with the transfer of Allande's wife endowment from Arispe to Mexico. Government officials request permission to do this, and other officials are informed of such transfer. There is discussion that endowment of soldiers can only be used for purchase of real estate, or be loaned for interest to a qualified person; this is based on regulations of monte Pio. Allande requests that money be loaned to Ximenes; government approves. (J. Tapia, January, 1988)

Documents concern requests for retirement by Trevino, Gonzales, Garcia, and Carenci. Herrera and Calleja respond and confirm or deny each request. Gonzales' illness and old age cause him to seek retirement. Service record mentioned on ff. 264-265. Herrera verifies illness and approves retirement with right of Fuero militar. Trevino's illness forces him to request retirement. Service record stated. Calleja rejects retirement because Trevino lacks required twenty years of service. Trevino's doctor says Trevino does not suffer any illness but old age and weakness make him unfit for service. F. 270 mentions Garcia's suffering from Sarampion - smallpox- and his symptoms. F. 271 letter from Garcia's doctor describing symptoms of smallpox. Garcia's request to retire accepted. F. 272 concerns governing of Alta and Baja California. Death of previous governor. Retirement with Fuero militar and use of uniform granted to Rodriguez Gomez. Other documents concern Calleja's acknowledgement of receipt of various cedulas de premios accorded to 31 individuals of companias volantes de Leon and Nuevo Santander. Promotions and appointments of individuals of companies of Nuevo Santander, Camargo, and frontera. F. 107 Calleja recommends promotions of Lopez Prieto, Garcia, and Cuellar. Garza's retirement request denied due to his incomplete years of required service. Gomez' similar request also denied. Vedia y Pinta's request for retirement denied because he lacks the required twenty years of military service. Request by Calleja to admit Carlos Garcia de Arista into the primera compania volante de Nuevo Santander. Gonzales requests retirement due to advanced age and unspecified illness. (P. F. 60 is relacion of individuals of tercera compania de Cavalleria volante de Nuevo Santander and premios awarded. F. 61-62 are filiaciones of Venavides, salamas, and Sanches. F. 64 is relacion of individuals of compania de Cavalleria de Punta de Lampazos. Ff. 66-82 are filiaciones of Trevino, Sanchez, Garza, Reyes, Galban, Cruz, Gonzales, Guevara, Rodriguez, Guajardo, Cisneros, Florez, Garcia, and Cardenas. F. 83 is relacion of tercera compania volante de Nuevo Santander and the individuals who have completed service requirements and premios awarded them.
