Absence of two Cabos from milicias provinciales de Veracruz. Panes requests that two replacements, Reyes and Arroyo, join company from their regimento de dragones de Mexico. Panes informed that Arroyo is in Hospital and that Mexican company has five vacant squadrons and cannot afford to transfer men. Panes informed to receive replacements from dragones de Espana. Ochoa requests promotion to rank of teniente Coronel. Military service record given, describing Ochoa's length of service, ranks held, and military campaigns taken part in. Ff. 264-265 provides extensive information concerning Ochoa's role in putting down insurgent rebellions and in his many other military campaigns. Numbers of dead, wounded, and imprisoned are given. Domingo Antonio de Galdames requests retirement with rights of Fuero militar and use of uniform. Illness and bad health reasons for retirement. F. 256 is service record of Galdames, including detailed account of various military campaigns and wars. Other documents are verifications of his service record and of his illness. Muns, Galdames' doctor, describes illness as una fistula en el Ano. Galdames granted retirement with both privileges of Fuero militar and use of uniform. (P. Lenz, February 1990)

Montes requests licencia absoluta and offers to supply his own replacement. Provides Ten pesos of his own money to facilitate process. Remainder of document concerns rules for granting of licencia absoluta. Montes' request denied.

Rosas requests retirement from tercera compania de Infanteria de Durango. Requests retirement privileges of Fuero militar and right to use uniform. Brief summary of Rosa's military service record. Ff. 236-237 is printed copy of 1811 decree governing the rights and use of the Fuero militar by military personnel. Rosas granted retirement with Fuero militar and right to use of uniform. Request by Casanova and Bautista Romero for military retirement with fuero militar and uso de uniforme. illness and old age reasons for desire to retire. Military records given. F. 227 lists each military post held by Casanova. F. 227-228 gives detailed summary of major campaigns of Casanova. Battle of San Ignacio de Piantla and battle of Rio de San Pedro figure prominently. Massive details (date, place, length, number of dead and wounded) given for each battle. Killings and imprisoning of Gandules and Apaches also cited. Muno testifies to having given medical assistance to Casanova for his enfermedad nerviosa of the stomach and Head. Doctor describes his prescription for Casanova and deems Casanova unfit for continuance in military. Other documents concern Bautista romer's request for retirement. F. 230 lists record of his military employment and briefly acccounts his military campaigns. His role in attacks contra enemigos of Tucson stated. Gomez requests retirement with provisions of military Fuero and use of uniform. Gomez' service record mentioned. F. 218 speaks of derechos de soberano and his role in the guerra contra Fransia. other documents concern state of his finances and credit granted him by real hacienda.
