Correspondence between virrey and three officers in Santander; Vidal de Lorca requests more munitions, money and troops to respond to Indian depredations; Maxent retires due to fever and illness suffered in San Luis Potosi; Quixas requests permission to go to Mexico City to See someone for cure, explains his sad position and excellent record; virrey is informed that Quixas, who is blind, has received permission from previous virrey but done nothing about it other than complain, causing previous virrey to impose perpetual silence on Quixas so virrey denies him permission to go to capital, but grants him permission to seek cure elsewhere; documents in Series, but intermingled. Varied correspondence between Sierragorda and virrey regarding administrative matters, orders received, announcements from virrey, and freedom conceded to various prisoners; ff. 331-335 involve Lafuente soliciting retirement due to mortal illness, described as erpeo espejinoso (vmo?) Zalado ofarfurceo; women referred to as quejas de Rosalia baldez are mentioned (f.336) and arrival of some women with Antonio (f. 350); freedom to prisoners held for murder (ff. 340-347); ff. 350-352 refer to border pacification and peace with Lipanes; little significant data throughout.
