Campaign against rebels vigorously pursued; discovery of a plot to kill the governor; hanging of captured indians; substantial victories won against the rebels; indian dwellings burnt; indian rebels stranded in the sierra, perishing of cold and hunger, and wanting to descend; horses lost, dead from extreme cold and snow storm; dead horses used as food; rebels subdued.
