Series of brief, general documents concerning military retirements, promotions, transfers, deaths, organization, service records. F.189 concerns accusation of misconduct against Tueros in matter of tobacco seed at Vizarron (seems to be tax evasion). F.200 concerns political factions, election of gobernador in Nuevo Leon. F.206 is Ecaymuzquiz' service record. F.211 is Toledo y Oquillas' service record. (A. Dean, may 1990)

Documents discuss election of Alcaldes ordinarios, sale of or appointment to positions as Alcaldes capitanes. F.120 mentions Ruiz de Guadiana as gobernador-electo of Durango. F.125 mentions grain, livestock given in payment for appointment of various Alcaldes. F.130 discusses search for Naiares Estevan and Mesquite (unclear why or if found). Ff.130-134 describe problems, responsibilities of Alcaldes; mention procurement of food for settlers, Indians in pueblos. (A. Dean, January 1990)

Ff.435-436 Vega disputes accusation of insubordination. F.437 Pardo asks for authorization to tally votes in election of Alcalde (no location given). F.438 Pardo complains of lack of funds to supply company of Aguaverde. F.439 is description of Indian attack on Gigedo; Pardo begs for better defense. Concerns the response of governors and capitans of presidios to the viceroy's instructions for a new method of government. Contains a complete list of governors to receive the report. Comments on use of the method as pertains to the missions of Texas. Describes the condition of missions and the relations with Indians. Descriptions of religious routines, prayer, teaching, baptisms and weekly religious activities. Relates new year's process of election of governor, mayor and sheriff. Concerns economic conditions and mission sustenance crops of corn, beans, cotton and cana de Castilla. There was an abundance of cattle (bovine, ovine and caprine) but lacking equine due to frequent attacks. Cotton cloth, ponchos and blankets were made in missions. Contains detailed description of mission life, men and women's duties as well as wardrobe of converts and Elite. Suggestions made for improvements by example such as increasing Spanish populations to serve as examples of culture, government, industry and civil harmony. Authors offer the missions under their administration as examples and describe older methods which have served their development. Under Menchaca, necessities are kept and equally distributed in the missions and used to maintain troops. All administrators feel current system of government to be effective.

Concerns Series of letters on administrative issues such as, retirements, tax exemption to retirees, appointments of new government official and other documents about conflict among candidates running for office in Huexucar.
