Nicolas testifies that he directed his Mule train to Durango and there deposited in the city bank 10,060 Marcos in silver. He further testifies that the Quinta and diezmo were paid in Durango. Pablo says that on January 21, 1654 Diego bought from him three Negro male slaves and one mulatta female slave. Their value was 889 pesos and Diego was short of cash so owes 193 pesos yet. In first document (July 4) Domingo de Valle notes that he is departida para Mexico City and leaves authority by this Carta to Antonio de Villategua, Vezino, mercadores de Parral and Domingo de Villategua, Vezino, mercadore de Parral to request, demand, receive and collect legally any and all debts owed to him. In the second document (July 6) Domingo del Valle publically borrows 494 pesos from Antonio de Villategua. (R. Davis) (1975)

In one document Juan Sanchez empowers Juan de Salaises to sell his slave Sebastiana. In the remaining documents the slave is sold to Diego for 350 pesos. Sebastina Gonzalez de Valdez is appointed ^curador^ of the estate of Dona Luysa who recently died - her Husband evidently already gone. Alfarez Antonio de canssio, capt. Juan Bauptista de Lora and capt. Juan Bernal sign to Sebastians character. Domingo files suit against deceased Mathias for payment of a 479 peso debt made in 1654. Requests payment from goods of estate and receives payment. Francisco Davila sells Xtobal to Manuel Machado and Pedro Blasques (seems to be just co-signer for Manuel). Davila says he got the slave from Balthassar de Sierra, a Mexico City merchant, in December of 1653. Selling price is 125 pesos. In this rambling document the citizens-hacienda owners are writing to the king via the Audiencia in Guadalajara and also thru the cabildo there that times are tough in Parral area the haciendas have been subject to Indian raids and the Weather is bad, food is needed. This seems to be a response to a routine (?) Visit by Andres and hernanco and they are to carry the ward back.
