Investigation of the reasons Tacuitatome, Alias Chisos Indians fled Pueblo of San Francisco de Conchos and escaped into Sierra. Charges and countercharges leveled by civil, religious authorities against each other; Franciscans accused of working the Indians without pay, charging them obenciones for burials, baptisms; justicia mayor Araoz accused of seizing Indian land, water and forcing them to work on his hacienda; Suma Indian who escaped from Collera bound for Mexico City accused of inciting Conchos Indians to flee. Summary
Coaguileno Indian community (37 men, 45 women, 15 muchachos) living for last seven years with Babosarigame Indians at Cinco Senores Pueblo imprisoned at Pasaje presidio to prevent them from joining their parientes, another Coaguileno group settled at Santa Rosa de Hadadores Pueblo in Coahuila, in rebellion. Santa Rosa Coaguileno attack on Parras Pueblo described. Preparations for campaign involving 80 presidial soldiers, 100 Indian auxiliaries noted. List of soldiers, Indian auxiliaries mustered at Gallo presidio included. Causa criminal instituted against Cinco Senores Coaguilenos and their Cabeza allies. Babosarigame Indians from Cinco Senores interrogated about Cinco Senores Coaguileno participation in revolt. Gobernador Alday informed that Cinco Senores Coaguilenos had not cultivated their fields and had killed their oxen because they intended to join uprising. Acoclame, Cocoyome participation in uprising noted as well. Alday finally recommends that Indian prisoners be deported a las provincias de Nueva Espana Tan distantes so they can't cause further trouble. Good summary document by Alday 0352a-0354a. naturales (Indians) of mission and Pueblo San Jeronimo de Huexotitlan request title to certain pieces of arable land around Pueblo, especially place called los Sandias, where they raised squash, watermelons, which they claim they farmed until la invacion de los Enemigos, y otros accidentes, forced them to abandon fields. Fields now farmed by Diego de Molina and others, who claim Indian request plot by caciques to get land, that land hasn't been intensively farmed by Indians for more than 50 years. (T. Debts owed to Beasoain and Beasoain's outstanding debts listed as well. Lists Beasoain's employees who owed him money. Beasoain obviously businessman of considerable importance. No slaves mentioned.
