The documents contain the records of the residencia concerning the conduct of Juan Munguia during the time when he administered justice in the province of Sonora. A list of twelve questions was utilized to standardize testimony taken from a large number of people during a period of thirty days - most testimony was favorable. (C. Needham) (1975)

A residencial commission, headed by capitan Medrano, takes testimony in the case of Lucas saenze, previously Alcalde mayor. Although a rather standard residencia (shorter than most) this is a particularly legible example. Ten questions are asked during the standard thirty-day period to witnesses and the conduct of Lucus saenze is, in general, endorsed. (C. Needham) (1975)

These documents contain the records of the residencia concerning Gregorio de Alarcon, justicia mayor and captain of war in the Valle of Parras. The documents are uncommonly legible and inclusive and contain many insights into both the responsibilities and temptations of the office. The interrogatorio provides a summary of these aspects and the responses also give some information with regards to Indian uprisings. (C. Needham) (1975)

This appears to be a ^firm^ type final notice to Diego Guajardo Fajardo from alfarez Diego de Galarreta in the name of all of the tribunals of the residencia, that the testimony is all in and has been or will be reviewed. A note on the bottom shows Juan Fernandez de Carrion to now be lt. Gov. - a promotion. Persons- Juan de Aguileta, Alcalde mayor; Diego Guajardo Fajardo, ex-gov. Of N.
