Concerns questions the intendente from Durango had on assets being transferred from there to Potosi and Arispe, junta Superior de real hacienda asks for his appearance; document that traces the forming of expedientes and what they cover such as leaves with pay, remittance from treasury of annual assets to other areas in the Provincias Internas, questions pertaining to receipt of money at the tribunal; Berrera writing to inform that he is paying his troops with cigarrettes with which they barter for what they need, situation is affecting income from tobacco to be reported, using cigarretes for barter is prohibited but due to circumstances it will be permitted in Monclova, permits Ugalde to mint more money in response to this situation; mentions the delay in collecting synods in the province of Coaguila by Ugalde; order to intendente to not pay interim ? Until avilitados appear before him, document lists 8 measures or articles that must be followed by Ugalde and others in administration of military finances that come from the intendente of Durango. Summary
Concerns the annual funding of account gastos de paz established for Coahuila and administered by Ugalde, surplus may be used to pay off scribes and assistants, mentions periodic reporting requirements (letter interrupted by other documents resumes on ff. 0485), traces transmittal of documents related to this account over the years 1788, 1789 in which Indian groups for which it was intended find themselves at war with Spanish, resulting surplus is to be sent to treasury or the Bahia presidio, communication of this information to Loyola; letter in which Ugalde has contended that the annual amount designated for the aforementioned account was not distributed by San Luis Potosi for the year 1788, Yermo who was to distribute funds had previous commitment to fund presidio and resources were used in this manner, Ugalde allowed to request money from Yermo but because each request must be accompanied by explanation and justification, control which Ugalde had expected is missing, one reason for this administrative apparatus is to preclude the duplication of gratificationes by other provinces to the same Indian groups, mentions other costs such as military supplies for horses, surgeons salary, and prisoners, further explanation of methods of making transactions so as to enhance coordination of the intendente of Potosi with Ugalde. Ff. 0383 - 0392 concern the retirement benefits of Lacumba being discounted by the amount that he owes the compania de Laredo, half of his salary; recalculation of the amount that Lacumba actually owes; Calleja responds to the two previous letters; document that traces the subject discussed, includes detailed financial information on how the amount was arrived at. Additional documentation on the subject of the abilitado's calculations; ff. 0393 concerns Farias' petition to contract marriage; ff. 0394 concerns the accounts that deal with gifts made to Indians supplied from the funds of primera and tercera compania volantes; ff. 0395-0398 concerns the case formed against Garza for revoltoso y seductor de los indios, gives el gato as nickname of Garza; Felix Calleja Lets Yturrigaray know that as soon as he receives the proper paperwork he will have the prisoner Garza transferred; ff. 0399 concerns the case formed against Castillo because of his treatment of his wife Garcia, document refers to relevant code that is being used in judicial proceeding, this code is apparently from one used in Cuba; ff. 0400-0401 concerns documentation ordered by Mosquera on matter of death of Ixart. Index of correspondence that concerns the Indian complaints of damage done to irrigation water is ff. 0363; ff. 0364 covers abstract of correspondence that deals with soldiers wives requesting money assigned to them by governor, request granted; ff. 0365 concerns the leave of absence granted to Ramon so that he can be married, mention of the dowry required; ff. 0366 covers the result of a judicial proceeding (indictment) against Esparza for the crime of desertion and his punishment of 8 more years military service; the request of, Sanchez for land for raising livestock near Llera and other areas, justifies his request by citing the strategic utility in closing up two areas of escape for Indians; ff. 0368 deals with documents used in the case of Alvarez in which he murdered his wife, is not entitled to Fuero militar; request by Molina that he be transferred to another area where he owns a ranch that he is in jeopardy of loosing if he does not receive transfer, request is granted and Salcedo allowed to pick substitute from Veracruz; letter that concerns Indian complaint lodged against Castillo in protest of his pushing them off their land. The acquisitioning of medals to be given to indians from the casa de moneda and reimbursement for the cost of the medals, correspondence covers from 1805-1807; letter from Salcedo discussing the minting of the medals; total requested were 100 medals; folios 338 and 339 are partial documents only; folios the possession of balerdi which once belonged to the abolished ways and means of militias; the sum was a product of the contributions of various people and therefore now belong to the real hacienda; matter has been taken up by the real tribunal y audiencia de la contaduria mayor; folio 335 says only Sonora; folio 0346 concerns the naming of ramos to alcalde for the santa hermandad in the jurisdiction of gualican; folio 0347 concerns the complaint of saenz rico's sister in law that he does not support his children in Mexico, decision made to deduct 40 pesos monthly from his salary towards this end; folio 0347 covers an expediente dealing with military promotions (no names mentioned); folio 0349 concerns the termination of position of contador de menores filled by vazquez Franco with correspondence telling him of his rights and privileges; folios 0350-0351 outline expediente that deals with why tributes were not collected from rosario.
