Concerns efforts to locate 3 'reos' brought to 'real carcel de acordado' in Mexico City year earlier; were escorted along with 14 Indians 'de Collera' and 2 desertors, from Nuevo Santander to Mexico; contains several autos in which witnesses testify that 'collera' arrived in San Luis Potosi, proceeded to Mexico, that all members and military escorts accounted for; finally discovered that 6 of the Indians died, the rest, including 'reos,' handed over to 'teniente' of dragones de Mexico. Concerns 'conduccion' of Mecos and Aracates to 'corte de Mexico' from San Luis Potosi; Lechon assigned to lead 'collera,' which includes 69 men and women (17 couples). First folios concern assignment to Quixas of 34 Mecos (27 women, 1 whom died, 4 children, 2 babies) jailed in Tula; presumably join Lechon's 'collera.' Santiago, Aracate Indian accused of several crimes, encarcerated until 'collera' arrives. Also included are signed statements in which officials attest to presence of 'collera' and military escorts in their towns. Numero 15 concerns battle between Piquete of soldiers and Camotero Indians; soldiers attempt to capture Camoteros, who resist with bow and arrow, killing 2 horses and a soldier; soldiers kill 2 Indians; find 2 Canoas, which governor decides they should keep, as soldiers need to cross River often; fiscal reminds governor that one-quarter of value of confiscated goods owed; governor responds saying Canoas do not appear Indian-made, besides are not serviceable, believes they are from shipwrecked 'san Judas Fadeo', wine and aguardiente also found, but governor argues it is weak and of little value. In 16, Bocio, widow of late governor, requests monthly pension of 20 reales; matter discussed among fiscales, approved. Numero 17 includes accounts of expenditures incurred while transporting Collera of Meco Indians to Mexico City; money from various sources; terms of some money lent discussed among fiscales. Concerns movement and 'manutencion' of 'collera' of Meco Indians sent from Chihuahua to San Luis Potosi. Sargento and Cabo ordered to lead group of 51 Mecos, men and women, then return to company. Potosi Alcalde mayor requests informaton on whence funding for 'manutencion' to come; many and various fiscales sign 'consulta'; particular branch of real hacienda to bear expenses. (L. Concerns delay in transport of three criminals from San Thiago del Saltillo to San Luis de la Paz due to Coronel of legion of San Carlos refusing to give Alcalde mayor of San Luis Potosi four soldiers and one Coronel to accompany them on trip; content limited, quantity of documents extensive for subject matter; no mention of crimes committed by prisoners. Extremely repetitive Series of complaints by Noriega and Sierra gorada to viceroy for failure of Gonzalez de Santianes to respond to Indian raid against San Juan hacienda with troops from nearby guarniciones at Soto la Maria and Santillana, and for general lack of vigor in pacifying Indians in Nuevo Santander.
