Nava sends promotion proposals for presidio de San Eleceario and San Fernando; those nominated for captain are Columna and pastor. Arce requests retirment from presidio de San Eleceario. Cuarta and tercera companias volantes are given six and four thousand pesos, respectively, for training. Letters concerning elaboration and detailing of map of provincias de Nueva Vizcaya. Summary
Petition of Gracia de Invalidos by Urioste in February, 1793. Borica proposed for military promotion to Zarin, Camarena and Madrid for Segundo alferes in presidio del Carrizal; Zarin is given the promotion in January, 1793. Urrea and Franco are nominated for la tenencia (lieutenant) de la compania presidial de San Agustin del Tupson; Urrea is given the employment in January, 1793. Nava nominates Maynes for capitan de la segunda compania volante; the promotion is accepted in February, 1793. Notification of run away of Indian known as capitan Chiquito from presidio de Arizpe. Capitan Chiquito, and some other Indians and soldiers, are said to have been killed by two bears; same folio mentions Grimarest death without specifying whether he or not he was killed by the Indians. Petition from Gomez in order to obtain Gracia de Invalidos, in feb,. 1793. Nava sends updated map of provincias de Nueva Vizcaya (February, 1793) to virrey. Perez Fernandez is given Alferez promotion for compania del presidio de San Francisco in January, 1793. Diaz de Solorsano is nominated for lieutenant in la septima compania del Cuerpo de milicias de dragones provinciales del Principe, in January, 1793. Nava reports the condition in which the sacred ornaments are, due to the extranamiento de los Jesuitas in a village (whose name is not mentioned). (R.Gomez, January 1989)

Summary
Nava notifies to virrey of battle between Apaches and teniente Mesa's group which took place in Parage las hornilas; Maynes submits a written report of the battle. Petitions from Nicolas Zarin, Mariano Urrea, and de la Sierra y Cienfuegos to virrey to become alferes, teniente and capitan. Petitions from Abril, Bustamante and Gastelum of compania presidial de Cerro Gordo in order to obtain cedulas de Invalidos (12 cedulas without specifying names are attached). de la Cierra y Cienfuegos asks to become capitan of presidio San Carlos. Nava asks the virrey to submit de la Cierra y Cienfuegos' to a period of observation in order for him to mende su conducta, modere el genio, aprendiendo a obedecer y llenar las funciones de su empleo... Diego de Borica seeks the office of governor of Sonora and Manuel sahagun seeks office of governor of Nueva Mexico. Sargent Moreno is given directions to take 92 Indian prisoners from Pilar de Conchos to Mexico City. Nava asks the virrey to equal salaries of tenientes and alferes de las companias presidiales y volantes in provincias de Nueva Mexico and Sonora. Nava notifies virrey of letters and oficios received. A Series of letters from three authors addressed to Ugalde that discuss various matters concerning the tercera compania volante and the assigning of horses to soldiers, receipt of discharge notices, rehabilitation of Puga from earlier injuries, purchase of corn, Gonzales de Paredes' request for discharge for medical reasons, transmission of documents among different companies, Puga's request for leave and transportation to Llena to handle affairs of recently defunct Father, Puga's request that his sons be assigned to the segunda compania volante, receipt of orders to retire Flores, efforts to recruit a particular Mason who is unfortunately deeply indebted to his company. Summary
A Series of letters primarily from Lacomba to Ugalde but also from others concerning matters affecting the tercera compania record and invalid status of Paredes and Buedo, requests to leave the company for a meeting, requests to fill vacancies, transfer of money to Ugalde, inquiries into arrival and late arrival of documents, clemency for 2 deserters, unfounded rumors of Indian attacks, the number of horses and mules at his disposal, Ugaldes disposition to expel all those who seek retirement before an imminent campaign, the difficulty in conducting a census among a hostile Indian population, Puga's desire to have his two sons serve in the adjoining companies, a dubious Tale of a Lipanes Indian attack told to him, reports of armament inventory, adverse affect of Weather on agricultural production in his area, prosecution of deserters, orders permitting the virrey special powers, use of a civilian at a military outpost in a mission, debts owed among the troops, capture of two Indians and transfer to Ugalde, conflict between two soldiers that had been quelled, promotions of Errera, Soto, and Cossio and the resulting vacancies and salary raises.
