Summary
Meeting of the royal hacienda to evaluate and determine the cost of the new colony, to revise the methods of pacification and reduction of Indians in Nuevo Santander. Several letters from Escandon to the virrey expressing the need for new families to volunteer to populate more villages. Escandon requests money to buy corn for the villages and the missions that are taking care of the Indians. He argues it is a good method to maintain peaceful relations with the Indians. Altamira answers the letters of Escandon and suggests the virrey accept the request. (D. Bautista, April 1990)

Summary
Escandon sends virrey detailed information about the devastation caused by the rains. Escandon sends a capitan to receive supplies the virrey wants to give. Also Escandon requests military promotions for those who worked hard in the disaster. In another letter Escandon describes actions taken by capitan Barverena in the capture of rebel Indians; auditor Altamira makes comments on the letters of Escandon suggesting to the virrey certain actions to take in the new colony.
