Funds solicited for beef, tobacco and mitre. Deals conducted with businessman for livestock; payment and delivery. Indian accused of killing a soldier. Report on Indians theft and disorders; index; Castro complaints about poor reception given to him in Tlaxcala; de las Casas complains of insults by fray Diaz who has excommunicated him in an outburst of anger; index; Alcudia is given the post of first secretary of state; regulations about marriages among university people are sent to Cierragorda; fishing licence is approved for laci and Chiles; Serna's and Echegaray's Cases are reviewed in comandancia de oriente; notice is given about the relocation of Indians under the authority of fray Castillo. Relocated Indians flee after their leader left, stealing horses and mules and killing six. Lasaga resigns his as governor and left to take care of personal business after his Brother died. Documents bears little information. (M. Marroquin, November 1988)

Informes by Fages relating incident of Indian Carlos of San Diego mission in prison for having wanted to assassinate Indian Antonio. Four new Indian converts knowledgeable of Carlos' plans called in to testify. (J. Hiller, February 1989)

Gonzales investigates criminal case against 17-year-old Indian convert Merino, accused of Murdering gentile Indian woman. Results of interrogation of Indian witnesses reveal that victim received three blows and died following day. Merino says motive was that Brother of victim had killed his relative three months earlier. Galindo recommends that Merino spend six years at presidio of San Francisco as punishment. (J.
