Activities at missions described: crop production, establishment of new orders, rebuilding of destroyed mission, failure of priests to report profits and subsequent conflicts with royal officials, and distribution of mission supplies. Preneda upon assuming office as gobernador Interino reports on status of presidio at Santiago de Moncloa, Coahuila. He comments on lack of gunpowder, lack of care of weapons, physical conditions of buildings, relations with surrounding Indians (resistance, horse thefts, etc.). Details conditions of weapons, gunpowder, horses and mules for each of 39 officers and soldiers at presidio in 1739 and awaits further orders from viceroy. (J. M. Johnson, December 1986)
