Summary
De Anza writes viceroy general letter relating his reasons for accepting and describing in general terms both expeditions to California and reminds viceroy of his wanting to open route between New Mexico and California thru Sonora. de Anza also describes to viceroy happiness of Palma and his three followers when they are confirmed in cathedral serving as godfather governor of area and three mayors. Viceroy issues monies to de Anza to cover trip of Yumas to Mexico and back to Colorado River. Viceroy communicates to de Anza an eddict given to him by Galvez about king personally giving thanks to Anza for expeditions and his appointment by king as governor of New Mexico. Anza thanks viceroy and sends him as present a piece of petrified wood found in creek in Arizpe. (A. Dell'acqua, January 1988)

Notification or remittance of weapons and gunpowder to presidios of San Diego and Monterrey. Hijosa's notification about the number of prisoners in San Blas jail. Bucareli's directions to de Anza as to how he is ordered to conduct Rio de San Francisco military occupation.
