A petition presented before the Juez eclesiastico charging adultery between wife Balentina Tatoya and Cristobal Xaramillo, another soldier in the Santa Fe presidio company. Governor Marin de Valle assigned Xaramillo to the Alburquerque squadron and away from Santa Fe, and to other assignments. (R. Jackson) (1980)

A case of the rape of Margarita Garsia Jurado by Juan Thomas louvato and Thomas Gallegos. Louvato was fined twelve pesos or fifteen days of public labor and exile to Terrenate presidio in Sonora, and Gallegos was fined Ten pesos. (Robert H. Jackson) (1980)

A legal action against Francisco mondrago who had abducted or run away with Maria de Olguin, a married woman. Mondragon was sentenced to 100 lashes, and Maria de Olguin was assessed a fine of 16 pesos. (R. Jackson) (1980)

Manuel has an affair with a married woman, Leonarda Cordova and assault an Indian servant belonging to his brother-in-law. Manuel is jailed and fined. (R. Jackson) (1980)

Juan marques (soldier of the presidio of Santa Fe) is accused of concubinage with Manuela Beitia (India) by his wife, Maria magadalena Baca. She later tries to drop the charges and accuse Juan Joseph Moreno (Theniente) of inciting her to complain. Maria Magdalena Baca Dies and proceedings are stopped and nothing done. Indians Antonio Yuba and Asencio Povia caught in homosexual relations by Manuel Trujillo who immediately whipped them and reported incident to teniente gobernador. Includes orders for arrest, embargo of belongings, declarations, and sentencing. Indians appointed legal defense. Case remitted to gobernador Phelipe and other to Zuni. (Raul Saba) (1980)

Antonio Torres is accused by his suegra, Antonia de Moraga, of an illicit relationship with his Cunada, Juana Martin. Series of testimonies - mainly from family and in-laws- taken by Alcalde mayor Francisco Montes. Discrepancies over guilt of Torres, and number and parentage of Juana's children. No decision. Remission of case to gobernador. (Raul Saba) (1980)

Gobernador Bustamante turns over case in sodomy proceedings against Romero and Sandoval to his lieutenant, general Perez Velarde. Ratification of witnesses and testimonies continue with accused claiming they have been slandered and falsely accused. Claim witnesses bribed to testify against them. Questions of perjury and robbery surface. Chief witness against Romero, Miguel Martin, denies charges and gives citations of St. Augustine. Case remitted to gobernador on October 24, 1728. Dealt with next by new gobernador, Cruzat y Gongora, in August, 1731. No final solution. (Raul Saba) (1980)

Fragmentary criminal proceedings against Francisco Xavier Romero of Santa Cruz for sodomy. Mmss begins and ends incomplete. Charges initially brought against Romero by Miguel Martin whose 15 year-old son was homosexually molested by accussed. The Boy, Juan Pablo, seems to have been mentally affected by the incident. Testimonies by Romero's legitimate wife and many others seem to verify his lewd conduct. Romero's generosity to the church, other extra marital relations and charge for like crime against Antonio de Sandoval punctuate mmss. No sentence or final decision. (Raul Saba) (1980)
