Letter written by Rodrigo, wife of Gonzales de Burgos, reiterating that her Husband has been seeking employment for 5 years, intimating that many vacant posts for which he applied were been given to Younger people despite his experience. Merino tells Salcedo that he held low opinion of Gonzales in his post in secretaria, does not recommend reinstatement. After losing job as administrador de Tobacos, Gonzales solicits job as administrador de Alcavalas in Saltillo; asks that documentation of employment history, references be sent from real hacienda. Gonzales reminds fiscal de real hacienda that he has been out of post as Oficial Tercero for 14 years. (O. Velez, January 1990)

Employment history of Gonzales de Burgos, mentions his monetary donation to war against Great Britain. Gonzales explains that he accepted job of administrador de Azogues y tobacco to supplement his income; after leaving post as secretaria he is earning less than before, asks for reinstatement to previous job. He lists other municipal organizations in which he would gladly work; petitions for job in Fabricas de Polvora, vacant due to death of gacleyne; asking on behalf of his 7 children, european wife. Gonzales comments on unlikelihood of getting job as promised by director de alcabales due to employment situation in Provincias Internas; complains that his income has dropped 75% while size of his family increases. He asks for 5-6 month leave to recover from illness; certification from doctor. Request rejected by Ahumada, ply y Alduan. Summary
Concerns gobernador Chacon of Nueva Mexico's petitioning that his position in Nueva Mexico was exempt from the Media anata in 1793 when he was nominated as well as the conduccion Fee from Spain. The Media anata was extended to include Nueva Mexico in 1799 so Truxillo decides to retroactively charge Chacon in 1800. Lassos and Vildosola support Chacon that it is unjust. Much correspondence back and forth to find the royal warrant on ff#298. Chacon is finally returned his money. royal nomination on ff#288. (E. Wilson, October 1989)
