A listing of various groups of regular and secular clergy who worked in New Spain from 1524 to 1764. Biographical data, which varies widely in detail, is included. There is no emphasis on the frontier region, but the work remains a potential source of data on the clergy. (J. Grusin) (1976)

Miera reviews his military career in an effort to obtain a military post in New Mexico. He reaffirms what he feels is the importance of securing New Mexico from hostile Indians to complete the link with the port of Monterey. (J. Grusin) (1976)

Glandorf relates the highlights of his 30 years among the Tarahumara. The letter was written in latin, he'd forgotten German. Recounts various miracles; and infestation of his dwelling by evil spirits, which he exorcized. Tells of the Pima revolt, and that he has many of the defeated rebels at his mission. (R. Serra writes his nephew, who has recently entered the order of St. Francis, of his upcoming mission to ^the province of San Saba. He tells of the martyrdom of two clergy there last year, and the serious wounding of another. Apaches are the primary inhabitants, although Commanches and ^innumerable other tribes^ are present.
