Summary
Francisco Padilla (espanol) is accused by Bernabe Baca (Alcalde mayor - Zuni) and Juan Joseph Padilla (fray - Laguna) of falsifying orders from governor that he is to be next Alcalde mayor (of Laguna); and inciting Indians of said village. Francisco Padilla imprisoned. Witnesses called. Only one Francisco Padilla released. Admonished severely. Placed on probation. Ordered to stay away from Acoma, Laguna, and Zuni. End. Twitchell Vol. II, no. 0415b. Also twitchell no. 0417, seems governador was really mad and wanted to punish but could not due to lack of evidence. Therefore, he slapped everything he legally could on Francisco padilla.
