This informe contains an introduction and one chapter treating of the numerous rancherias of this mission, the names of the friars who labored there, and the number of baptisms performed. This is a copy of the official visitation made by fr. Juan Diaz of the missions of Pimeria Baja belonging to the college of Santa Cruz. An account of each mission is given with the date of visitation and the name of the Superior, countersigned by fr. Juan Diaz as visitador and his secretary, fr. Francisco Iturralde. Five letters written by fr. Francisco Garces to fr. Diego Ximenez. One is so badly written that a copy was made which accompanies the letter. These letters are really informes giving information of the mission and speak of various Indian tribes - cocopa, faliquamai, Yumas, etc. Some cover one folio others two. They bear the following dates- February 15, 1778; February 19*, 1778; December 25, 1776; September 24, 1776; January 12, 1775. These are original letters having the autograph of fr. Garces. This informe by fr. Diego Ximenez to Bucareli petitions his excellency to release the friars from the care of the missions in Pimeria Baja. At the end he enumerates eight missions, the distances between each and the number of Indians, giving a total of 3611 Indians. This document was written at San Fernando colegio in Mexico City and seems to be an original having the autograph of fr. Diego Ximenez. (microfilm catalog)

This informe was written by fr. Raphael Verger to the gov. And contains also the diary of fr. Juan Crespi acerca del descubrimento de el Nuevo Rio de S. Francisco. added by fr. Palou is the following- relacion compendios a del reconocim.to de la Costa desde Monte Rey, que esta en los 36 1-2 Grados de Altura Hasta los 55, hecho Por el Piloto Juan Perez, en Este Ano de 1774 en compania de los padres, fr. Juan Crespi, y fr. Thomas de la Pena del colegio Apostolico de San Fernando. This last addenda bears signature of fr. Francisco Palou. (microfilm catalog)

This is a copy of the diary of fr. Juan Diaz when he accompanied cap. Juan Ansa in the expedition from San Gabriel in California to San Ignacio de Tubac in Sonora. The diary begins with the date of may 5, 1774 and ends on may 25 of the same year, concluding with the following words- se finalizo Este diario en dicho presidio de San Ignazio de Tubac en 26 Dias del Mes de Mayo de 1774. It ends with the name of fr. Juan Diaz, Misionero Appostolico, but it is not his signature and the diary is a copy of the original. (microfilm catalog)

This is the original diary of fr. Juan Diaz who accompanied cap. Juan Ansa on the expedition to the Gila and Colorado rivers to open a new route to Monte rey and the missions of California. The diary begins by listing the personnel who were in the expedition, thirty four in all. It starts with the second of January, 1774 and ends with the 22nd of March of the same year. It concludes with the words- concluyo Este diario en esta mission de San gabirel in 8 Dias del Mes de Abril de 1774. this document bears the autograph of fr. An informe by fr. Antonio Ramos stating that he has been appointed as the official visitator of the missions of Pimeria Alta and Pimeria Baja pertaining to the college of Santa Cruz of Querataro. A list is given of the missions to be visited. This document is incomplete and bears no date signature. Written on the top, however, are the words- 1774, presid. Ant. Ramos. (microfilm catalog)

This informe gives an account of each of the following missions and the dates of their foundation- S. Diego, July 16, 1769; San Gabriel, September 8, 1771; S. Luis Obispo, September 1, 1772; S. Antonio de Padua, July 14, 1771; S. Carlos de Monte Rey, June 3, 1770. It also speaks of the missions, San Buenaventura Santa Clara and San Francisco which were not yet founded, but the proposed sites for their foundation are mentioned.
