Provincial writing to his procurador to prepare an accurate list of the active missions and their personnel so that the royal stipends can be requested on a sound Basis a situation which did not always exist in the past. Apparently royal officials were placing pressure to receive this list. Mention is made of the secularization effort of the 22 Sinaloa missions attached are the complete lists as requested. With names of all personnel and missions and an explanation of the method used to catalogue the missions and difficulties inherent in the same. (D. Deeds) (1977)

Testimony in support of an entrada against the Isla de Tiburon. Contains a discourse on civilizing the Seris, which notes that they prefer to live as they used to. Includes subsistance information. Gives names of the rebel leaders. Offers plan for resettlement and repopulation of abandoned Opata pueblos with Seri children (the rest be allowed to leave the province). Summary
Roxas requests missionaries to open their Libros de Cuentas to secular authorities and missionaries respond. Some information on political and military situation, agriculture, etc. Perez de la Busta observes that Indian crops (mais, Trigo, frixel, algodon, Cana, lenteja, Chile, garbanzo) and mission economics suffer because Indians spend so much time fighting as auxiliaries. Missionaries worried about challenges to their temporal control of missions, including right to punish wrongdoers. Good information on mission debts and credits. Proclamation demanding inhabitants of certain key frontier areas in Sonora adopt numerous defensive measures against the Apache, including congregation of settlements, abandonment of out lying areas, replacement of grass roofs with earthen ones, construction of towers, creation of militias, personal armament, etc. Those refusing such measures faced embargo and sale of their belongings.
