History

Juan testifies on behalf of Nicolasa, Indian woman, and Juan Pedro her Husband, that Dona Francisca Espana beat Nicolasa with a club. Testimony of witnesses on both sides. Doctors report on Nicolasas condition. Finally Dona Francisca confesses to her crime - pays 100 pesos. (R. Davis) (1975)

Joseph is going to move to Mexico City but before he can he must pay his debts - so in this letter he empowers his dad Francisco, and Andres, to sell his goods for best they can, then pay his debts for him and send him any balance leftover. This is one piece document which is simply a note stating that Domingo de Valdivieso, public Scribe of Parral, has passed, in the name of the governor, did before the Alcalde mayor Don Juan de Aguileta, a number of men as public scribes. No numbers or names given. (R. Davis) (1975)

Capt. Mathias Pereyra Lobo, Vezino of Ville of San Philipe in Sinaloa sold Philip to Domingo de Apressa Falcon, Vezino/Minero of Parral, but Juan de Mendez contested the sale (for some reason?). The argument first was put before Francisco de la Rocha, obviously now appealed to Parral. Mathias says he received 300 pesos for the slave and there is no illegality or falt to the sale. It seems Dona Maria's Husband Joseph had a well producing silver mine which he held back the royal fifth from. His wife is now pressed into payment - amounting to 1,975 pesos and Don Diego has decreed it be taken from the estate left to her. Martin tries to Argue her case but to no avail.
