From the May 1969 Arizona Medicine In Memoriam: "...King, as he was affectionately known to his contemporaries, was an outstanding obstetrician in Tucson from 1925 until his retirement in 1948.  He was born in Stockdale, Texas in 1887... A graduate of Vanderbilt School of Medicine, he practiced in Elmendorf, Texas, until he moved to Arizona in 1925. He was president of the Pima County Medical Societ in 1935 and was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He served 11 months overseas in the Army Medical Corps in World War I..."
