Arizona Daily Star 10/10/2009 Letter to the editor: [Bonnie] Henry's [Oct. 5] column about the UA's female pharmacists reminded me of Mid Rietz. Originally from Sioux Falls, S.D., she graduated from pharmacy school in 1943, a true pioneer. She came to Tucson in 1950 and was a partner/ owner of Frontier Drugs in one of the first shopping centers in Tucson, Frontier Village. Come June, she will celebrate her 90th birthday. In the meantime, she enjoys golf and dining at her favorite restaurant in Green Valley, where she now lives. I showed her the article about the UA female pharmacists and she remarked that they are mere babes in the woods compared to her.
