Riesen from Bethel College, in Kansas, to be Professor of Philosophy, Registrar, and High School Visitor. He directed the affairs in philosophy and psychology until 1934 and was dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 1930 to 1944. (page 59) ... Emil Riesen was the father of Austin Riesen, a psychologist at the University of California, Riverside, and he was the brother-in-law of Emil Haury, also from Bethel College, who for many years chaired the Arizona Anthropology Department. Austin Riesen earned his baccalaureate in 1935 at Arizona and in 1981 his a h a mater awarded him an honorary doctorate for his research in vision. (page 63).
