J Am Med Assoc, Jan 1940; 114: 262: Dr. Everett D. Plass, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, State University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, gave a series of lectures on obstetrics recently in Kingman, Williams, Flagstaff, Winslow, Holbrook, Safford, Phoenix, Yuma, Florence and Tucson. Among the subjects were delayed labor and contracted pelvis, toxemia of late pregnancy, anesthesia in obstetrics, delivery and postpartum routine, bleeding in early pregnancy, abortion and puerperal infection. The courses were financed by the maternal and child health division of the state department of health and were given in cooperation with the committee on maternal welfare of the state medical society.

Y.; born in Poughkeepsie, May 6, 1886; Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, 1911; formerly on the faculty of his alma mater; professor emeritus of obstetrics and gynecology at the State University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, where for many years he was professor and head of the department; member, past-president, and secretary of the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists; member of the Iowa State Medical Society and the American Gynecological Society; secretary, Section on Obstetrics, Gynecology and Abdominal Surgery of the American Medical Association from 1934 to 1937, when he became chairman of the Section on Obstetrics and Gynecology, serving until 1938; specialist certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and formerly a member; served as a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners; veteran of World War I; obstetrician-in-chief at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from 1922 to 1926; died Aug. 17, aged 70, of ruptured aortic aneurysm.
